Police arrested a La Grange restaurant owner recently as he inquired why an employee was placed under arrest.As officers attempted to serve a warrant on an employee at Ray’s Corner restaurant about 9 p.m. March 31, owner Raymond W. Irwin allegedly confronted officers to inquire the reason for his employee’s arrest.Officers visited the restaurant, located in the 200 block of East Main St., to serve a warrant from another county.According to police, Irwin allegedly continued to demand the reason for his employee’s arrest and police said they told Irwin to go back inside at least twice.Police said Irwin smelled like alcohol and placed him under arrest. Irwin allegedly shouted at officers outside his restaurant, pulled away from officers as they applied handcuffs and refused to put his hands behind his back.Irwin, 64, 1810 Wolf Drive, La Grange, is charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Police housed Irwin at the Oldham County Jail and he was released about 10 a.m. the next day on a $500 unsecured bond.
