Oldham weathers the storm

-A A +A
By Laura Hagan

It’s being compared to that other storm, the one in September with high-speed winds that knocked out power for days and scattered tree limbs and other debris throughout the county, only this one was worse.

Just like Ike. With ice.

The snow and ice storm that began Jan. 27 left about 14,000 Oldham County households without power, and a week later, crews have restored power to all but about 1,100 households – as of Tuesday.

During Tuesday’s fiscal court meeting, Judge-Executive Duane Murner gave an update of the situation in the county.
