ACT scores above average but still below No Child Left Behind marks

By Tracy Harris

Despite Tuesday’s release of No Child Left Behind interim report scores, Oldham County students continue to outperform state and national averages in a number of other areas.

A report presented by Shirley Lauterbach, assistant superintendent and high school director, at Monday’s Oldham County Board of Education showed high ACT and Advanced Placement scores for the county’s high schools.

But the NCLB Adequate Yearly Progress report released this week reported Oldham meeting just 68.2 percent of its goals.
