Nearby Jefferson County has 125 NBCTs. Kentucky added 226 new NBCTs in 2009, ranking the state 12th nationwide for NBCTs.
U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said teachers who achieve National Board Certification have “demonstrated a commitment to taking their teaching practice and the teaching profession to a different level.”
