Residents have an opportunity to learn more about the operations of the Oldham County Police Department.
OCPD will offer a 10-week Citizens’ Academy starting April 16.
Classes are three hours per week and participation is limited to 25.
According to OCPD, the academy is designed to educate residents about the many aspects of the department to foster better understanding between it and the community.
Classes include patrol, criminal investigations, emergency management, traffic enforcement and the drug task force.
The Citizens’ Academy is free. Course completion requires participants to attend at least nine of the 10 classes.
Participants must be 18 or older.
