If budget projections are correct, operating costs for the Oldham County Jail will cost the county about $96,000 less this year than last, members of fiscal court discussed Tuesday.
Jailer Mike Simpson projects a $33,000 revenue increase for the next fiscal year due mostly to an increase in the number of out-of-county inmates housed at the jail.
Oldham County Judge-Executive Duane Murner said a recent expansion at the jail created space for additional inmates. The jail receives funding to house out-of-county inmates from either the state or the respective county.
