A tough week for the Oldham County Colonels got a little tougher Friday night as a 28-14 loss to Collins extended theirn losing streak to two games.
Early on though, things looked good for head coach Matt Brown and his boys as they matched
Collins strike for strike through the games' first 15 minutes.
After falling behind 14-0, the Colonels rallied behind a 21 yard scoring run from senior Chris Caudill
and a one yard touchdown sneak from quarterback Brett Strnad.
From there, things would start to fall apart though as Collins' junior quarterback Lawson Page connected on his
second touchdown pass of then night with 24 seconds to play in the first half.
They extended that lead to 14 with a 53 yard run from Masai Whyte in the third quarter and OC
never recovered.
The biggest discrepency in the game came on the ground as the Titans carried the ball 30 times
less than the Colonels but managed to outgain them 242-152.
Still, Chris Caudill had a big game for OC with 111 yards and a score on 17 carries and 112
receiving yards on five catches.
Turnovers also proved to be a big factor in the outcome however, as OC could never really seem to
get into a consistent rythm after tossing three interceptions and losing a fumble.
As a whole, the Oldham County offense controlled the ball for 30 more plays on Friday night but
still managed to be outgained 420-329 in total offense.
The Colonels will return home for this week's game, welcoming rival South Oldham to Bell Field for a 7:30 p.m. matchup.
