The Oldham County Colonels started the season on a rough note Thursday night, dropping a 19-7 decision to Eastern High School.
While the Colonels' bats came alive in the team's first game, their defense and pitching left plenty to be desired, committing 12 errors with 11 walks and nine wild pitches.
"You're not going to be too successful with that," Oldham County coach Scott Gerlach said. "At the plate, seven runs and nine hits, is a pretty darn good day but not when you make these types of mistakes on the mound and in the field."
