Oldham County EMS has received a grant from the state board that oversees EMS units.
The $10,714.28 grant was awarded to OC EMS by the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services as part of its emergency medical services grant program.
Oldham County Judge-Executive David Voegele signed off on the grant Tuesday.
The money will be used to purchase a bariatric stretcher. The equipment will be used to transport obese patients. It has a weight capacity of 1,000 pounds.
Statewide EMS units can apply for the grants each year.
The money can be used to purchase equipment such as vehicles and defibrillators or to fund personnel training and ongoing education.
