Officials will offer weather spotter training March 11

Officials from Oldham County Emergency Management and the Louisville office of the National Weather Service are hosting a free weather spotter class.

The two-hour SkyWarn training class is for anyone interested in learning more about severe weather identification and safety. 

A key part of the class will be learning how participants can help protect their communities by reporting ground truth information on storms to local meteorologists working to issue and disseminate warnings.

The class takes place at 7 p.m. March 11 at the Ballardsville Fire Department, 4604 S. Ky.  53.
