An Indiana man has been arrested and charged in connection to a body found on a Oldham County property last week.
Police in Watertown, N.Y. arrested Miles J. Matthews, a 27-year-old male from Corydon, Ind., on Sunday, after he was identified as the suspect in the death of 34-year-old Adam N. Gregg, of Louisville.  Matthews has been charged with murder and theft by unlawful taking in the case.
As of Tuesday, Matthews was still being held in the Jefferson County, N.Y. Correctional Facility after being arraigned Monday afternoon.
Because the charges are in Kentucky, Matthews was only arraigned on the warrant for his arrest. His next court date in New York is July 30 and his extradition is up to Oldham County Police and the county attorney, the Jefferson County, N.Y. county clerk said, leaving his return to Oldham County indefinite.
Gregg was found last Thursday evening just off the driveway at a farm at 5400 W. U.S. 42, by a woman who lived on the property. Oldham County Police responded to the scene on Thursday and were assisted by Louisville Metro Police.
Charissa Shea, daughter of the woman who discovered the body, said her mother thought the blood in the gravel driveway was from a dead animal at first, but later found the body in the bushes.
“It’s crazy, this is our family home,” Shea said last Friday. “Our place of peace.”
Matthews was arrested at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, according to OCPD, after they reached out to other police departments with information he had fled north to New York, possibly to cross over into Canada. Watertown, N.Y. police arrested Matthews after pulling him over for a traffic stop in Gregg’s 2007 Chrysler Sebring, according to a news release by OCPD.
Gregg was a 1998 graduate of Oldham County High School and still has family who live in La Grange.
