Norton Healthcare and Kosair’s Children’s Hospital broke ground Tuesday on what will be the first pediatric outpatient center in Kentucky. The two-story, 71,300 square-foot, $50.3 million facility is scheduled to open around June 2010. It will feature a 24-hour emergency room, outpatient surgery and diagnostic imaging. Norton Healthcare President and CEO Stephen Williams said the center, at Old Brownsboro Crossing in Eastern Jefferson County, is in the middle of the fastest growing pediatric population in the state.
