North Oldham’s Brianne Brown awarded state championship ring

North Oldham’s Brianne Brown won the State Championship in the 2A Girls Long Jump in May by breaking the state meet record held for 38 years with a jump of 18 feet, 6.5 ianches. 

During halftime of the Aug. 24 football game between North Oldham and Oldham County, Brown received her state championship ring from Athletic Director Tom Clemons, Head Coach Alan Yanke and Long Jump Coach Craig Grimm. Brown was escorted by her parents, Rene and Carolyn Brown.

 In addition to her state laurels, Brown recorded the longest jump in the history of 2A Girls track and field with a jump of 18 feet, 9 inches at the Eastern Relays, qualifying her to compete at the USA Track and Field Junior Nationals in Baltimore. Brown finished eighth at the event and earned All-American status with a best jump of 18 feet,1.75 inches.
