OCSD lift station fails; two-man maintenance crew is ‘swamped’
A Oldham County Sewer District lift station overflowed Sunday due to an electrical problem, emptying sewage into a creek off Ky. 1694. It’s the second time it has overflowed this month — first during a power failure caused by winds from Hurricane Ike, OCSD maintenance supervisor Alex Smither said. He said the sewer district needs to clean up a creek somewhere in the county due to overflow a few times a year.
