A drunk driver convicted in the death of a La Grange police officer in 2003 has been released from prison eight years early for good behavior.
Gregory Lee Porter pleaded guilty to manslaughter, wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and DUI for the crash that killed La Grange Police Officer Eddie Mundo Jr. on April 16, 2003.
Mundo had responded to a domestic dispute about 2:30 a.m. at the Oakview apartment complex in downtown La Grange where Porter had allegedly assaulted his estranged wife.
