The Oldham County History Center presents “Voice of the Fugitive,” beginning May 29 at Actors Theatre in Louisville. The center announces its 2009 Juneteenth Celebration with the production, based on the narratives of Kentucky slave, freed man, abolitionist and separatist, Henry Bibb. Bibb escaped the bonds of slavery and became an abolitionist and leader of the Separatist movement. He established a Refugee Colony for slaves in Canada and became the first black editor of a Canadian newspaper. Performances are 7:30 p.m. May 29 and 30, and 2 p.m.
