LOCAL TEAMS COMPETE IN DERBY CITY CLASSIC

While most high school teams headed to the beach looking for warmer weather during spring break, three local baseball teams got in plenty of game action a little closer to home, squaring off in the Derby City Classic at Spalding University.

TUESDAY’S GAMES
SOUTH OLDHAM 11, MANUAL 8
South Oldham was able to overcome three errors in Tuesday’s opener against Manual, pounding out 12 hits and adding five runs in a decisive sixth inning to win  11-8.
Drew Greenwood recorded three hits to lead the Dragons, while Drew Lively added three RBIs.
