The annual Living Treasures reception was held last Saturday, honoring those selected as Living Treasures for 2013. At left, There were six of the year’s 11 Living Treasures on hand at the reception Saturday. Each had a segment of their oral history read then were presented with a plaque and a framable copy of their newspaper article as it appeared in the Era. Left, David Hurt, a Kentucky Humanities Council Chautauqua performer, priovided entertainment for the reception by telling the story of Marshall “Grandpa” Jones, a country/bluegrass artist who is probably best remembered from his role on the long-running hit HeeHaw.
