With summer already well under way, both the North and South Oldham Little League All-Stars are starting to pick up steam.
After wrapping up District 2 competition earlier this month, a number of local teams took to the state level over the weekend.

North Oldham rolled past Valley Sports 10-8 in the finale as Steven Votaw, Kaiya Sheron and Ben Gibson each picked up 2 RBIs. Austin Reed added a double.
10- 11-year-old Nationals
North Oldham picked up a win in the next age division as well, rolling past South Oldham 27-3 on July 2.

Junior league
North picked up another win the junior league division, knocking out South 9-2. For North, Griffin McLarty had a triple, two doubles and 3 RBIs, while Trey Willis had three RBIs of his own on two hits. For South Oldham, John McCarthy had an RBI single.

That said, the boys from Peggy Baker park returned the favor in the senior league game, dealing an 8-2 knockout punch.
Big league
After winning the district, North Oldham advanced to the state tournament where they lost to North Laurel 10-0 and 13-5 in two games. Nik Gorman led the way for North in both games with a pair of doubles and three singles.
