The Oldham County Chamber of Commerce graduated the first Leadership Co-Op Mentoring Program Tuesday night during the Chamber’s quarterly dinner at the John Black Community Center.

The program was facilitated in partnership with the Oldham County Board of Education.

The Leadership program was an idea that emerged out of the 2008 Leadership Oldham County class. Five students from area high schools have been working with six different employers.

Students worked, served on project teams and participated in company responsibilities. Students were able to spend quality time with company executives each week.

Participating employers include Cedar Lake Lodge, Fastline Publications, Norton Healthcare, Oldham County Fiscal Court and the Oldham County YMCA.

Students were selected based on their grades, activities and leadership potential. Each earned a $1,000 stipend for their work this year.
