La Grange woman discovers juveniles burglarizing home

Two boys are charged with burglary after a woman found the juveniles in her living room about 7:20 p.m. Jan. 5.When a resident found the boys in her home, located in the 500 block of North Fourth Street, they allegedly escaped through a window and fled on foot toward Walsh Park.The woman reported the burglary to La Grange Police and the juveniles were later charged with second-degree burglary after they were located at a suspect’s residence.–jacquelyn stoess hackResidents lobby for extra signs along I-71 to warn drivers of deer A portion of Interstate 71 between exits 14 and 22 may receive additional road signs warning travelers against the hazardous deer population. Magistrates are requesting safety improvements to Interstate 71 from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in a section of roadway where a high school student was killed in a deer-related crash in November.Oldham County Judge-Executive Duane Murner agreed to send a letter recommending additional deer signs on the most hazardous section of I-71 northbound and southbound between Crestwood and La Grange. Magistrate David Voegele proposed the letter at the Jan. 2 fiscal court meeting after receiving several e-mails from residents regarding safety on I-71.Murner said he will also inquire about the possibility of removing the natural habitat in the 11-mile long median.
