On Jan.17, the United States Marshals Service, in partnership with the Oldham County Police Department, Oldham County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police and the U.S. Marshals Western Kentucky Regional Task Force launched “Operation Hermitage,” a sex offender compliance initiative aimed at verifying 100 percent of the sex offender registry in Oldham County. This operation was conducted in furtherance of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 and focused on ensuring compliance with the sex offender registry and tracking down those offenders deemed non-compliant. The total number of sex offenders currently registered and not currently incarcerated inside one of the correctional facilities in Oldham County is 22, with two individuals currently listed as being non-compliant. Twelve law enforcement personnel participated in the operation, logging 96 hours and making one arrest.

Rodney Dale Jones was on the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry (SOR) and was listed as currently living in the Crestwood area. As a result of Operation Hermitage, Jones was found to be living in the Pensacola, Fla. area without documenting his move with either the Kentucky SOR or the Florida SOR and has been arrested.
