Inside the mind of an Ironman

-A A +A
By John Foster

On Sunday, Rick Rawlings did something a miniscule percentage of other humans ever accomplish. He completed a marathon. Oh yeah — and he swam 2.4 miles and biked 122 miles before he ever slipped on his running shoes. The 45 year-old Humana pharmacist from Prospect tells everyone who comments on his accomplishment of completing his second Ironman that all things are possible and, “you’d be amazed at the power of the human spirit.” He takes us through his day. 3:30 a.m. Wake up. Not a big deal.
