The Oldham County History Center will host an archaeology investigation under the direction of archaeologist Jeannine Kreinbrink. This is a continuing investigation at the Gatewood Plantation located in Trimble County, which was the last place Henry Bibb was a slave before he gained freedom by escaping north where he became the first black editor of a Canadian newspaper. The dig will take place from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22. Children age 13 and up are welcome with the company of an adult.
