The Oldham County High School Symphonic Band will represent Kentucky in concert performance in the Heritage Festivals concert band festival in Boston next weekend.
Seventy-two band members and 16 adult chaperones will depart on April 30 and travel overnight to Boston, with an intermediate stop in New York City.
While in Boston, the band will visit the many historical sites related to the nation’s early history, attend a theatre performance, and take a whale-watching excursion in addition to performing works by Eric Ewazen, Camille Saint-Saens and Richard Wagner in the festival on May 3.
The OCHS band travels every other year at the individual student’s expense to compete in concert festivals across the country.
Anyone interested in supporting this opportunity for students in need should contact director Brad Rogers at Oldham County High School.
