Grams fires perfect game for Colonels

BUCKNER – For once Alex Grams didn’t want to hear his teammates chattering behind him when he was on the mound.
Grams, an Oldham County High School senior fired a perfect game in a 17-0 win over Trimble County April 14.
“I realized going into the fourth inning I had it and I just wanted to keep everybody quiet and not talking about it,” Grams said. “I didn’t want anything to jinx it.”
Grams struck out eight against no hits and no walks in facing the 15 batters in the Colonels’ five-inning win.
