Former Oldham County girls basketball coach Todd Gilley was inducted into the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches Court of Honor on Friday in Bowling Green during the girls state basketball tournament.
Gilley coached at OC beginning in 1998-99 for four years.
At OC all four of his teams reached the regional tournament. Two of his teams reached the semifinals of the region and one reached the finals. Two of his teams won at least 24 games and were ranked in the top 20 in the state.
Gilley is currently girls basketball coach and athletic director at Henry County. This is his second stint as head coach of the Lady Cats. He’s also coached at Bardstown Bethlehem.
“It was a huge surprise for me,” Gilley said of his induction. “It was very humbling.
“This award is shared with all my former players because you don’t get an award like this without great kids to work with. I’ve also been blessed to work with great staffs, parents and administrations.
“It meant a lot to me that so many people came to share this with me. I had family, friends, co-workers and former players who made the trip to see me receive this award.”
