Little LeagueSOLL hosting spring tryoutsWhen: Feb. 23 and March 1. Where: South Oldham Middle School. What: The South Oldham Little League will host tryouts on Feb. 23 and March 1 at South Oldham Middle School. Times are as follows:For machine pitch players with the last names A to M  from  8:30 to 10:15 a.m. and from 10:15 to noon for players with last names N to Z. Senior-Minor players with last names A to M will tryout from noon to 1:45 p.m. and from 1:45 to 3 p.m. for players with names N to Z.From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. all major league players will try out and from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. all juniors will try out. Conner’s Allison Long.Game highlights: The Lady Dragons were able to dominate the second and fourth quarters to pick up a win over a tough Conner team that entered the game with 21 wins. SOHS, 19-5, got a huge game from senior star Lauren Jones when they most needed it. Jones hit 10 of 18 from the floor including three three-pointers to finish with a game-high 30 points. Male’s Brea Hamilton, Natasha James and Cathy Petty.Game highlights: The Lady Colonels got off to a horrible start as they made 10 first quarter turnovers and let Male get out to a 19-6 lead. The Lady Colonels fought back in the second period to cut the lead to four behind the scoring of Audri Beaudrie and Lindsay Melton, but could never get over the hump. Trent Maddox’s 16 led four players in double figures for the Wildcats. Trimble County’s Aaron Law and Christian Courtney.Game highlights: North Oldham used a stingy man-to-man press to break this one open in the second period and pound the Raiders the rest of the way. Alex Foley led the way with 21 points followed by Mike Rowan with 19 and Clay Watson with 17.Aaron Law led all scorers with 23 points for Trimble County.
