Mustangs capture Charger Cup
When: Aug. 4.
Where: Heritage Hill Country Club.
What: The North Oldham High School boys’ golf team won the Charger Cup tourney hosted by Bullitt East.
The Mustangs were led by junior James Wistrom, who posted a career-best round of four under par to finish with a 68.
The team also got solid performances from senior Alex Foley with a 74 and senior Austin Love’s 75.
The final contributor to the team scoring was sophomore Kameron Shams who shot an 81 for NOHS.
Senior Larry Parrella posted an 85 in his tournament competition debut.
The Mustangs team score of 298 bested runner-up DuPont Manual by nine strokes. Wistrom won second medalist at the tourney. He posted a blemish-free round of four birdies and 14 pars, but came just one stroke short of the first Medalist trophy, which was decided on the first playoff hole when the Manual golfer also posting 68, got a birdie.
Pegasus Sports announces schedule
What: The Pegasus Sports Network will broadcast 13 regular season local high school football games over the internet. For the first time, PSN will kick off the football season with the Pegasus Sports/Baptist Hospital Northeast Football Preview Show featuring head coaches from all three local high schools at 9 a.m. Saturday.
All broadcasts will begin with a pregame show 30 minutes prior to kickoff. There is no charge to listen to the broadcasts. To listen, fans should go to www.teamline.cc and enter 7761 as the team name. This will take the listener to the Pegasus Sports Network page and from there, simply follow the on-screen directions.
