FOOTBALL

Wallace selected for talent combine

When: Jan. 7. 

Where: South Oldham High School. 

What: South Oldham High School quarterback Christian Wallace has been invited to the 2010 U.S. Army National Combine for football players.

The combine is for underclassmen will be a part of the All-American Bowl week which showcases the best senior players in the country.

Wallace, a junior, completed 85 of 198 passes for 733 yards and four touchdowns this season for SOHS and was an all-district punter.

WRESTLING

OCHS hosting alumni/parent night

When: Jan. 6. 

Where: Oldham County High School. 

What: The Oldham County High School wrestling program will host a senior/alumini night at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6 at the school.

The evening will start at 6:30 p.m. in the wrestling room with an alumni/parent gathering followed by a 7 p.m. match against PRP.

All alumni and parents and parents of alumni are invited. Any alumni who wish to be added to the team’s mailing list for announcements and season updates can contact Coach Aaron Riordan at aaron.riordan@oldham.kyschools.us.

VOLLEYBALL

Parks offering adult volleyball

When: Registration accepted through Jan. 19. 

Where: Oldham County Middle School. 

What: The Oldham County Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration for its adult men and coed volleyball leagues.

The registration deadline is Jan. 19. League play starts Jan. 25 at Oldham County Middle School. The league fee is $140 and includes a seven-game schedule and single elimination tournament.

BASKETBALL

Parks offering men’s basketball league

When: Registration accepted through Jan. 5. 

Where: Tri-County Community Action Agency, La Grange. 

What: The Oldham County Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration for its men’s 55-and-over 3-on-3 basketball league. The league provides a 10-game schedule starting Jan. 14. The cost is $45 per team or $15 per individual. Registration forms are available at oldhamcounty.net.
