When: June 6.Where: Eagle Creek Golf Course, La Grange.What: The Kentucky Tae Kwon Do and Fitness Academy’s Go for the Gold booster club is hosting a golf scramble at 8:30 a.m. June 6 at Eagle Creek Golf Course.The cost is $70 per individual or $260 per foursome. All proceeds go to help the academy’s teams compete in the Junior Olympics in Detroit in July.The registration deadline is June 1. Free fishing days at Moore Park
When: June 7-8.Where: Wendell Moore Park, Buckner.What: The Oldham County Parks and Recreation Department is participating in Take Me Fishing Day from 8 to 10 a.m. June 7-8.It is a free fishing day for kids and they will not need a license. The parks department has a few poles to loan out and there will be a prize for the biggest fish caught.Parks hosting hiking trails dayWhen: June 7.Where: Morgan Conservation Park.What: The Oldham County Parks and Recreation Department is participating in National Trails Day from 9 a.m. to noon June 7.The department will unveil the new Morgan Conservation Park with several different hikes through the park. The event is free.For information, call 225-0655.Parks department holding duathlonWhen: June 21.Where: Wendell Moore Park, Buckner.What: The Oldham County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Duathlon June 21.This event combines running and biking into one race. Participants will run a 3K, that includes firm surfaces and cross-country segments, a 10-mile bike ride on a non-closed road course and finish with another 3K run. The race costs $25 per individual. Non-USAT members must add $10 per participant to cover one-day insurance. The top two finishers in a variety of age groups as well as the men’s and women’s overall winner receive awards. The registration deadline is June 17. The clinic meets one evening per week at a local course beginning in early June.
