OCHS dance team hosting fundraiser

When: May 15.

Where: Oldham County High School.

What: The Oldham County High School dance team will host a Relay for Life - Hip-Hop-athon from 7 to 9 p.m. May 15 in the OCHS Building III gym.

There is a $1 donation at the door and dancers are seeking sponsors to help raise money for the American Cancer Society in conjunction with the Relay For Life event.

Members of the University of Kentucky dance team will make a special guest performance along with other attractions and prizes.

SOLL hosts poker tournament

When: May 10.

Where: Crestwood Station shopping center.

What: The South Oldham Little League will host a $10,000 no-limit poker tournament from 6 p.m. to midnight May 10 at the Crestwood Station shopping center.

The cost is $100 in advance of May 9 and $125 at the door with a maximum of 200 players.

Kentucky Karma releases schedule

When: Monday.

Where: Crestwood.

What: The Kentucky Karma women’s professional football team has set its 2008 schedule. The team is coached by Crestwood resident Tom Hawkins.

Home games will be played at Louisville Holy Cross High School on Dixie Hwy.

April 26 - Karma vs. West Virginia

May 10 - Karma vs. Chatanooga

May 17 - Karma vs. Alabama

May 24 - Karma at West Virginia

May 31 - Karma vs. Cincinnati

June 14 - Karma at Alabama

June 21 - Karma at Chatanooga

SOLL hosts senior league registration

When: April 30 deadline.

Where: Crestwood.

What: The South Oldham Little League is taking registration for its senior league for players ages 15-16.

The registration deadline is April 30.

League play will start in mid-May at the conclusion of the high school season. The registration fee is $120.

La Grange Rotary hosts golf scramble

When: May 9.

Where: Eagle Creek Golf Course, La Grange.

What: The La Grange Rotary Club will host a golf scramble May 9 at Eagle Creek Golf Course.

All proceeds go to scholarship funds for local high school students.

The scramble is limited to the first 36 teams.

The cost is $65 per person and includes greens fees, cart and lunch.

OCYFA has spring signups

When: Saturday and May 10.

Where: Peggy Baker Park, Crestwood and Walsh Park, La Grange.

What: The Oldham County Youth Football League will have two sign-up dates this spring.

The first will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Peggy Baker Park in Crestwood.

The second will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 10 at Walsh Park in La Grange.

Youth tennis lessons offered

When: Registration is open now.

Where: Wendell Moore Park, Briar Hill Park and Immaculate Conception.

What: The Oldham County Parks and Recreation Department will offer beginning tennis lessons for kids ages 6-8 and 9-12.

Lessons meet at the courts at Wendell Moore Park, Briar Hill Park and Immaculate Conception. Morning classes meet twice a week for four weeks for $48.

Evening classes meet once a week for six weeks for $36.

There is a maximum of eight students per class, minimum of four.

Sessions start in early June each year.
