The Locust Grove Elementary school site based decision making council has reached a decision regarding the selection of a new principal.

Council members recommended that William “Andy” Moore serve as principal of Locust Grove Elementary School.

Moore has accepted the position and becomes principal effective June 11.

Moore received a bachelor of education from the University of Kentucky and a masters of education from Northern Kentucky University.

He has served as the assistant principal at Simpsonville Elementary School in Shelby County for the past three years.

Prior to his appointment as assistant principal, Moore taught for seven years in the Oldham County School, teaching third, fourth, and fifth grades at La Grange Elementary School and Kenwood Station Elementary School.

Locust Grove will host a “meet and greet” session with Moore from 5-7 p.m. Friday in the school library.
