The La Grange skate park coffer may be empty, but local causes will benefit from three hefty donations made at the end of the 2010.
Before her term as mayor of La Grange expired Jan. 3, Elsie Carter cleaned out the city’s skate park account. The account contained $12,738 before she selected three agencies to benefit from the funds on Dec. 28.
One check went to the Oldham County Sheriff’s Office for $6,738. The funds were directed at a DUI program to educate teens about the dangers of drinking and driving.
