The General Assembly convened Jan. 6 for a 30-day session. Our first week was spent “organizing,” that is, each chamber chose their leadership teams and committee assignments were distributed. I have been named the chairman of the Transportation Committee, which along with my other assignments on the Appropriations and Revenue Committee, the Agriculture Committee and the State and Local Government Committee, will help me provide the people of my district with a wide-ranging voice on the pertinent issues of the day.
