Finding Justice in This Life

-A A +A
By Al Earley

The prophet Amos spoke words from God to the people of Israel, known as the Northern Kingdom during the eighth century B.C.  He proclaimed powerful words of judgment on all those who had roles in government, religion and commerce.  If you work in any of these, and you are willing to take a good honest look at yourself, read Amos.  The most often quoted verse in Amos is, “Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” (Amos 5:24).
