Event promotes the needs of neglected children

Sneakers and gym shorts were the appropriate attire for Saturday’s first CASA of the River Region walk in Oldham County.
With more than 40 participants offering a $25 donation, Executive Director Kathy Martin said she was pleased with the number of people who opted to walk for the cause of abused and neglected children.
Among the walkers were Sen.  Ernie Harris.
“We heard that there were two other walks in the area at the same time and ours was the best attended,” Martin said.
