EOMS wins conference title

East Oldham Middle School took the last of 10 lead changes against Oldham County May 31, securing a 6-5, 12-inning win at Wendell Moore Park in the title game of the Ohio Valley Middle School Conference.

EOMS pulled out the win thanks to a strong 12th inning.

Matthew Roy paced EOMS at the plate. Matthew went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the eighth, 10th, and 12th innings.

The top of the third saw EOMS take an early lead, 1-0. The EOMS attack began with a single from Tanner Salmon. Clay Satterly singled, plating Drake Silcox.

It didn’t take long for OCMS to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the third. OCMS scored on an RBI single nd a sacrifice fly.

One EOMS baserunner came all the way around to score in each of the seventh, eighth, 12th, and 13th. In the seventh, East Oldham scored on an RBI double by Satterly, scoring Salmon.
