A man who performs contract engineering work for the city of La Grange and holds the title of city engineer is not in violation of the city’s ethics code because he isn’t a city employee, commissioners ruled last month.
Members of the La Grange Ethics Commission determined since David Garber is not a salaried employee with the city – he doesn’t receive benefits, insurance or retirement – he is not in violation of the ethics code while working for the City of La Grange and working as an engineer on the Summit Parks development.
