All seventh grade students from South Oldham Middle School went on a field trip this past fall. Half of the trip was to the Louisville Water Company where students learned the history of the Ohio River Valley and the water they drink. The other half of the trip was to the Falls of the Ohio where students learned about the fossils that are commonly found in this area. Both places were tied to the core content standards for Earth’s History. While learning, students were able to make real-life connections and conduct hands-on activities at the same time.
