McKinnon wins award

Wheaton College student William McKinnon of Goshen received the Department of the Army Superior Cadet Award.

This award is selected by professors in the Military Science Department at Wheaton College for the cadet with the best overall performance in the junior class.

Crestwood students on dean’s list

Olivet Nazarene University recently announced students named to the dean’s list during the spring 2017 semester. Area students who achieved this honor are Bryce Marcordes and Tess Marcordes, both of Crestwood.

To qualify for inclusion on the dean’s list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.

Local students graduate

A record number of graduates at Campbellsville University recently received their degrees. Among those graduates are: Jacob Lamb of Crestwood, who received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration Area; Vicki Shaffer of La Grange, who received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education; and Stephanie Davis of Crestwood, who received a Master of Arts in Special Education in Teacher Leader.

Changes to Head Start

The Oldham Head Start classrooms will be located at the following address for the 2017-18 school year: 230 Yager Avenue, Suite 5 in La Grange and in La Grange Elementary, 500 West Jefferson Street in La Grange.


Head Start classrooms will no longer be located in Camden Station Elementary or in the Oldham County Preschool.
