Morris commissioned as lieutenantJohn Morris of La Grange was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army May 10, during Western Kentucky University’s 163rd commencement. He is a member of the Hilltopper Army Reserve Officer Training Corps program.Local student travels abroad through WKU Imagewest internshipSamantha Hughey of Crestwood is one of five students participating in a four-week internship this summer in Malaysia, as part of Imagewest — the nation’s only student-run, revenue- based, full-service advertising and public relations agency –– at Western Kentucky University.This opportunity will provide a chance for Imagewest student interns to work alongside the International Islamic University Malaysia. During the trip, Imagewest will be completing assignments that deal with branding, advertising, public relations and Web site design for IIUM.Each semester, WKU students compete for positions at Imagewest for course credit. The agency has decided to expand to a global level for the first time since the agency opened in 2004. Only previous interns are eligible to apply for the abroad internship.Imagewest plans to offer an international internship every summer.Oldham students named to dean’slist at BellarmineBellarmine University has named 552 full-time students to its dean’s list for the 2008 spring semester.
