“Like writing history with lightning,” were the words used by President Woodrow Wilson to describe the first movie shown in the White House in 1915.

That movie, "Birth of a Nation," was created by La Grange native D.W. Griffith, whose initials, carved by his own hand in concrete, are still visible in La Grange today.
