Molly Malone enjoys the simple things: spending time with family, a Sunday afternoon nap and quality time with her chew toys.
Outside of her ordinary life, though, this 9-year-old Labrador retriever is being feted as a hero by local animal welfare groups.
It was 2:45 a.m. on Nov. 2, when the clickity-clack of Molly’s nails on the hardwood floor woke her owner, Joe Malone.
This was not unusual; Molly wakes Joe most nights when she needs to go outside.
