An early morning crash in Buckner closed a stretch of Ky. 146 on Thursday as crews worked to free an injured woman from her vehicle.
A car and a tractor-trailer collided in the 4100 block of Ky. 146 near Ky. 393 at 6:18 a.m. Thursday.
The driver of the car, 68-year-old Betty Moore, was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville for life-threatening injuries.
Emergency crews from La Grange Fire and Rescue, Ballardsville Fire, South Oldham Fire and Rescue and Oldham County EMS worked to rescue Moore, who was trapped inside her vehicle beneath the tractor-trailer.
The tractor-trailer, carrying lumber, had crossed railroad tracks parallel to Ky. 146 and was turning onto Ky. 146 when the crash occured. It was leaving a lumber yard on the opposite side of the railroad tracks. The driver was not injured.
Moore is a bus monitor for Oldham County Schools. District officials said Moore had been driving to her bus to begin her morning bus route when the crash occurred. She has worked in several positions for the school district since the 1990s.
Officials closed Ky. 146 from Old La Grange Road to Ky. 393 for more than two hours as police investigated the crash. The road reopened at 9:15 a.m. and later closed for several more hours as police continued the investigation.
