Health department wellness series

The Oldham County Health Department will host the following: The New Definitions of Wellness Series with Dr. Carl Paige of Paige Primary Care Center at the Oldham County Health Department, 1786 Commerce Parkway, La Grange 40031, Tuesday, Feb. 4, 6:30 p.m.

Topic: Heart Health: Prevention and treatment of cardiac disease with nutrition and lifestyle.

Life Line Screening

Life Line Screening will be at St. James Episcopal Church on Friday, Feb. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Life Line Screening offers five safe, painless, non-invasive preventive health screenings that are typically not a part of a routine physical. Valentine’s fundraiser

The youth group at Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church is hosting a fund raiser for youth mission projects in the area, such as working to rebuild homes with families in Eastern Kentucky and other local mission projects here in Louisville and Oldham County.

The Valentine’s Dance is Feb. 8, around 6pm. There is a wonderful jazz swing band performing and providing an evening full of awesome brass jazz and swing music.

If you want to attend, it’s $20 a person and includes a wonderful home cooked meal, desserts and more. There is also a silent auction.


Italian bistro fundraiser

Gleason Hall will once again be transformed into a fabulous Italian bistro to host a fundraiser for the music program at St. James’ Episcopal Church, Pewee Valley.

Wine and hors d’oeuvres with silent auction beginning at 6:30 p.m., dinner at 7:30. Live music, raffles, door prizes, fun and fellowship -- all for only $25 per person.
