Tri-County Community Action Agency will begin accepting applications for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) on Nov. 12. Applications will be accepted through December 17 and the appropriate application day depends upon the last name of the applicant.
Applicants must supply the most recent heat bill or verification that heating expenses are included in the rent paid, proof of Social Security number or Permanent Resident card for each member of the household and proof of the total household income for the preceding month.
On the assigned day of application, applicants should go to Tri-County Community Action Agency at 1015 Dispatchers Way in La Grange between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. For more information, to determine your eligibility and to learn which day you should apply, please call Sherrill at (502) 222-1349.
Cedar Lake Gala
Cedar Lake’s 25th Annual First Light Gala will be held on Nov. 9 at 5 p.m. at the Louisville Marriott East.
This black tie affair will be sure to delight as we celebrate the success of our residents and organization over the past 43 years.
This year’s theme –“A Taste of Success”- is an evening full of entertainment sure to captivate including: a silent and live auction, dual-entrée meal and entertainment from sand artist, Joe Castillo, “America’s Got Talent” finalist.

The Kenwood Northeast Baptist Church Anointed choir concert will be held on Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. at 8900 Hwy. 22 in Crestwood. The cause for the concert is to raise money for choir robes. Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will host its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 4 – 9 p.m. at 502 North Fifth Avenue in La Grange. Turkey dinner will be served from 4 – 7 p.m., and special recognition and discounts will be available for veterans. Active duty military in uniform eat for free. Also on display will be a humvee and veterans Wall of Photos.
Other activities include wheels, family bingo, showdown poker, blackjack, pull tabs, kids games, book sale and silent auction. Capital prizes are $1500 grand prize, $500 second prize and $250 third prize.

Civic Club Meeting

The North Oldham Lions Club will be sponsoring a Holiday Bazaar, Sunday November 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 12414 Hwy. 42 in Propspect. Breakfast with Santa and photos with Santa for the kids and for your pet. Over 20 vendors will have booths to help start your holiday shopping early. Lunch will be provided by a NOLC chef.

The MS Pumpkin Derby will take place Saturday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. The event will feature pumpkin races, an MS awareness village and a Kids Fun Zone, among other items.
