LEXINGTON - Clark County's size proved too much for the Oldham County Colonels to overcome as the Cardinals rolled to a 56-39 win in the opening round of the Sweet 16 Wednesday.
No. 3 ranked Clark County led just 14-12 at the close of the first quarter, but outscored OCHS 13-2 in the second quarter behind a stifling defensive effort and the inside play of 6-foot-5, 240-pound center Corey Rogers.
"I thought their length really took a toll on us in the second quarter," OCHS coach Jason Holland said. "We could throw over or around them and it really disrupted our offense."
