BUCKNER – After weathering Simon Kenton’s counter punch, the Oldham County Colonels came back with their own haymaker to knock the Pioneers out in a 57-49 win Friday.
OCHS, 18-6, dispatched a team many considered their main rival for a regional crown with a 12-2 run just before the end of the first half.
“We got off to a great start and then they got back into it,” OCHS senior guard Blake Payne said. “Their pressure surprised us some, but once we got used to it, we started playing well again.”
