County clerk Julie Barr presented her 2010 budget Tuesday to members of the Oldham County Fiscal Court.
Before she asked for final approval on the budget, Barr told officials the clerk’s salary had not been received yet, so it was estimated. The clerk’s salary is a statutory amount. Barr also said there are two county-wide elections that will be included this year.
The budget – which includes decreases in amounts paid for supplies and expenses, employee benefits as well as contracted services from the 2009 budget – passed unanimously with the court. The projected income for the year is $14,137,700.
Barr also told the court that in 2010, the delinquent tax sale will be handled solely in the clerk’s office.
The passing of House Bill 262 moved the sale from the sheriff’s office and Barr said the clerk’s office does not yet know what the impact of that will be on the clerk’s office.
The clerk’s office will be closed Dec. 31 – they had originally planned to keep the office open a half day, but scheduled computer system maintenance is planned and Barr said the office will be closed all day.
